Community Garden

Coming Spring 2009!

A Place at the Table is thrilled to announce that we have been given permission by the Stromsburg Housing Authority to plant and care for a community garden for the residents of Swede Haven in Stromsburg!  We will be meeting with the residents soon to get their input on what vegetables they would like to grow, and to discuss in more detail our plans for tilling, planting, and caring for the garden.

The garden will be open to all of the residents of Swede Haven.  There will be no limits or quotas, no requirements of any kind to share in the whole, fresh, natural produce of the garden.  All will be welcome to come and share; in the work, in conversation, in prayer, or in harvest.

We also want to make every effort to allow each and every person the chance to contribute to the success of the garden, including those with special needs.  By doing so, we hope to create an atmosphere where fellowship, companionship, and community come together in a special way to bring joy, fulfillment, and peace to all who visit the garden!
